Singapore

Singapore, the "Little Red Dot" of Southeast Asia, with its prime location, stable politics, quality education and healthcare, attracts countless immigrants globally.

Why

  • Singapore is rated as one of the world’s most livable cities for years. Safe, clean, convenient, and high-quality. Education, healthcare, and welfare are world-leading.

  • Singapore is a global financial and trade hub, simple taxes and low rates attract many international companies. Ideal for entrepreneurs and investors.

  • Singapore’s education is world-renowned, especially bilingual (English + mother tongue). Both public and international schools provide quality resources.

  • A multicultural society with Chinese, Malays, Indians, and others living in harmony. Highly inclusive, immigrants can quickly integrate.

Main Immigration Pathways

1. Student Pass

Singapore’s Student Pass is designed for international students attracted by the country’s high-quality education system. After graduation, students who secure a job can transition to a work visa, with the possibility of eventually applying for permanent residency (PR). Those without immediate job offers may apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) to extend their stay. The earlier and longer a student studies in Singapore, the better their prospects for securing PR or even citizenship in the future, making this route particularly appealing to young professionals planning a long-term future in the country.

2. Employment Pass (EP)

The Employment Pass (EP) is targeted at professionals, managers, executives, and specialists seeking to work in Singapore. Applicants must have a minimum monthly salary of SGD 5,600, with passes valid for up to two years and renewable for three-year periods. The EP does not have a foreign worker quota or levy, offering greater flexibility for employers. EP holders can sponsor Dependant Passes for their spouse and children, as well as Long-Term Visit Passes for their parents, and are eligible to apply for PR after establishing themselves in Singapore.

3. Work Permit (WP)

The Work Permit (WP) is for low- and semi-skilled workers in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, maritime, and services. There is no minimum salary, but permits are subject to industry and nationality restrictions, as well as quotas and levies specific to each sector. Valid for up to two years and renewable, work permit holders cannot sponsor dependants or apply for PR, making this pathway suitable mainly for temporary or contract labor.

4. Tech.Pass (TP)

The Tech.Pass is tailored for accomplished tech entrepreneurs and experts, requiring a high salary (SGD 22,500+ per month) or a senior role in a leading tech company. Valid for two years and renewable, the Tech.Pass allows holders to start businesses or work for multiple employers in Singapore. However, to apply for PR, Tech.Pass holders must first convert to an Employment Pass, making this permit ideal for top-tier tech talent seeking flexibility and diverse career opportunities.

5. Personalised Employment Pass

The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is designed for high-income foreign professionals and is not tied to a specific employer, allowing up to six months for job searching between positions. From September 2023, both EP holders and overseas professionals must earn at least SGD 22,500 per month (SGD 270,000+ annually) to qualify. PEP holders can sponsor dependants and parents on LTVP, enjoy a three-year non-renewable term, and must transition to another permit or PR before expiry. This pass is ideal for senior professionals seeking flexibility and career mobility in Singapore.
